
NOAA recently released the 2013 Fisheries of the United States report. For US commercial fisheries, a total of 9.9 billion pounds of seafood was harvested in 2013 at a value of $5.5 billion. This is up 2.5% from 2012. For US recreational fisheries, 11 million recreational fishermen took 71 million trips.
