
The South Atlantic commercial vermilion snapper season will close on September 30, 2011 at 12:01am and will re open January 1, 2012 at 12:01am. According to NOAA Fisheries Service, the June 2011-December 2011 quota of 302,523 lbs will be reached by the closing date. During the closure no one with a snapper-grouper commercial permit will be allowed to commercially fish vermilion snapper in the South Atlantic.
